RhineBuzz was established in 2008 as a source of information for members of the international community and to act as a conduit to the rich arts and cultural world in Düsseldorf. For many people, RhineBuzz has been their introduction to life in the city. Ten years later, RhineBuzz remains committed to helping members of the international community integrate. We want our members to feel like Düsseldorfers, not tourists passing through!
We run a program of events that takes in all aspects of cultural life. But more than just hosting regular events, we have the connections that allow us to shine a light on unexplored gems and take our members behind the scenes. Our members regularly discover events and places they have never heard of. They also get to meet the people who make those events possible and tap into the insider knowledge of these amazing creative people. And of course our members get great seats at great prices!
RhineBuzz welcomes members from the German community as well as from the international community. Our membership includes those living in Düsseldorf and beyond. It is a community of people with a shared love for this city and all it has to offer.
– Behind the Scenes –
Fiona Leonard is a professional storyteller. A published author, blogger, playwright and creative mentor, she has a fascination for unearthing the stories behind the stories, which makes her a sucker for history and politics and people and cities… An incurable case of wanderlust has taken her to 26 countries on five continents. She arrived in Düsseldorf in 2015 and has no immediate plans to leave.
With a passion for events and marketing and speaking four languages, if there’s something happening in Düsseldorf chances are that Linda Azar either knows about it or had a hand in organising it! She lives to travel and is always planning the next trip. Thanks to a RhineBuzz Arts Workshop a few years back she now paints and is convinced that every person has a creative side. And she can help you find it!
Ian LeBlanc is an IT professional by day, a musician by night and a dabbler in the written word on the side. A German resident for the past 18 years, this Nova Scotian-born Canadian has no plans to leave Europe anytime soon. When he isn’t rocking and rolling on the weekends fronting his band, Aberrations, he can usually be found enjoying local events around Düsseldorf or off exploring the environs on his trusty bicycle. RhineBuzz was founded by Caroline West in 2008. For nine years, she moulded and shaped and grew a wonderful international community in Düsseldorf and its surrounding region. A champion for the arts – whether solo musicians or symphonies, individual artists or art museums, performers or festivals – she ensured the international community experienced all that this area had to offer. She was a much loved friend and we miss her greatly.
