It’s not often that RhineBuzz events involve heated debate, but at the August cooking class there was conflict aplenty with the group evenly split on the topic, which was best – ravioli with butter and sage? Or ravioli with tomato sauce?
The first in the RhineBuzz Italian cooking class series was a huge success. Hosted by the wonderful Monica Riboni and Valeria from La Cucina di Casa, we were treated to an afternoon of learning how to make ravioli from scratch. Participants chopped and mixed and kneaded and rolled and folded until we had trays laden with squares of ravioli packed with spinach and ricotta. And yes there were high fives aplenty!
Then to the sound of clinking wine glasses and conversation from our multicultural group we settled in for some serious taste testing – plates of excellent ravioli followed by a melt-in-the-mouth panna cotta.
I think I speak for everyone in saying this was pretty much a perfect way to spend a Sunday!
